Flame Agate (also known as Mexican Flame Agate, Graveyard Plume Agate and Carey Plume Agate) when sliced, has the appearance of flames, which seem to arise from the base. Mexican Flame Agate and Carey Plume flames usually comprise of a red Jasper intrusion, where as Graveyard Plume flames are white. This agate acts as a 'prodder', encouraging one to seek the light and the hope of the eternal. It renews the passion and enhances physical vitality as well as stimulating attentiveness and diligence. Flame agates containing red Jasper should also see the Jasper section for additional properties. The Graveyard Plume, in addition, stimulates the Crown Chakra and both strengthens and initiates the movement of the Kundalini. It also helps, during states or transition, to enhance understanding. Celestite ranges in colour from blue (the most beautiful being from Madagascar), white, yellow, orange, red, and red-brown. Chiastolite is a variety of Andalusite which occurs in the form of stout crystals, exhibiting the axis and angels in a different colour from the rest and producing a coloured cross. The 'cross stone' was, in the past, associated with deflection of the 'evil eye'. It is now used as a sign of devotion, especially devotion towards awareness, which can, in itself, dispel negativity.  The energy of Chiastolite opposes and thwarts contrary action by transmuting dissension to the state harmony. It signifies both death and re-birth, bringing one to the state of realization with respect to understanding immortality. It is a bridge for 'crossing over' – providing the means of transportation as well as the unobstructed avenue. Chrysoprase crystallises in the same form as Chalcedony and is actually an apple green type of Chalcedony. In addition to the attributes listed in the Chalcedony section, the following properties are applicable. This mineral is useful for balancing the yin yang energy and for aligning the chakras with the ethereal plane. It activates, opens and energizes the heart chakra, bringing the energy necessary to the physical body, through the loving energy of the heart. It instils a state of grace within the user, facilitating deep meditative states, compassion and clemency. It provides for non-judgemental attitudes, acceptance of others, acceptance of self, and savoir-faire. It encourages the maximum beneficial outcome to situations and facilitates adaptability. It can also help to heal a ‘broken heart’, enabling one to understand the patterns of growth. It can reduce superiority and inferiority complexes and can confer fluency of speech with presence of mind. It has also been used to encourage fidelity in business and personal affairs. Citrine is a variety of Quartz, the colour being in the range from yellow to golden brown to burnt amber. It is one of two minerals on the planet which does not hold and accumulate negative energy, but dissipates and transmutes it, working out problems on both the physical and subtle levels. It, hence, never needs clearing or cleansing. Citrine is a stone of abundance, and placing a Citrine in your cash box or in the wealth corner of your house attracts wealth, prosperity and success. It is said the have been one of the stones used in the breastplate of the high priest. Citrine aids digestion, can assist in the treatment of digestive disorders, and can promote the circulation of blood. It has been used in the treatment of degenerative disorders and to facilitate the diminishment of growths. Coral comes from the sea and is the vacated housing of a marine animal. The colour range includes black, white, pink, red, and blue. In addition to the properties listed in the Shell section, the following attributes apply. Coral represents diplomacy and concurrence. It is also said to quiet the emotions and to bring peace to within the self. It facilitates intuition, imagination, and visualization, and helps one to both understand and to use the qualities of the mystic; it can bring one into communication with the past spiritual masters of this world and can expedite and accelerate the transfer of knowledge. A Herkimer Diamond is a unique form of Quartz which crystallizes in the shape double terminated short, stout, clear or included prismatic crystals. The name derives from its place of discovery in Herkimer, New York, USA. This mineral provides an energy of delicate harmony, enhancing distince awareness and unbridled spontaneity. It helps one to 'be', providing for an alliance of surrender and a strength allowing for the further recognition of the essential being within the self; recognition of this aspect also provides for the acknowledgement and appreciation of the essential being, which is not the self, but is within each of us. The energy of the Herkimer Diamond helps one to begin again in this lifetime and assists one in clearing the body-mind system of unconscious fears and repressions, allowing for total relaxation and expansion of the life energy. Jasper is a form of opaque, unusually patterned, Chalcedony and occurs in massive formations. The colour range includes dark red, orange, yellow, tan, brown, green, grey, and blue; it sometimes occurs in the configuration containing stripes or ‘banding’. Properties, additional to those listed in the Chalcedony section, are listed below. This mineral is known as the ‘supreme nurturer’. It acts as a reminder that one is not here, on this physical plane, just for oneself, but is also here to bring joy and substance to others, assisting others to release the bonds of constraint. It is conductive to awareness and to allowing one to celebrate situations of isolation. It helps one to realise that one is always remembered by those who can, usually, be called upon to provide insight to examples of those who send loving energy toward ones physical manifestation. Jasper is often worn by shamen to provide protection. It holds an aspect of solar energy and a connection to the solar plexus chakra which also helped shamen in their magical practices. It was considered a sacred stone during the performance of,  and adherence to, the ‘old ways’ of the Native American Indians. The jasper containing the blue colour was used to connect one with the ‘after’ worlds. It is a stone which accepts intense responsibility in the realm of protection, It protects against negativity and helps one to be grounded to the stabilizing energies of the earth. Jasper can be used to align the energy of the chakras and to integrate the attributes of the chakras such that astral journeys can be affected. Information on Yowah and Koroit Opal: Over 90% of all precious opal is mined in the dry and dusty opal fields of Australia's Outback. Precious opal, showing a "play of colours" or flash is very rare and only found in around 1% of all opal.

 

Yowah and Koroit are located approximately 1000 kilometres from the east coast of Australia, right in the heart of Outback Queensland. The opals from here are unlike opal anywhere else in the world. They are renowned for the beautiful and intricate patterns of precious and common opal that run right through the host rocks. Sometimes they are called "Aboriginal Art Opals" due to their resemblance to native Australian paintings.

 

Even some stones with only common opal (potch) can be collectors pieces, with the patterns in the stone forming beautiful pictures. Picture stones are in high demand world-wide. The area is also famous for its opal "Nuts". These are ovaloid ironstone concretions that occasionally contain deposits of precious opal. About one Yowah Nut in every ten thousand has a centre of crystal opal. Others have opal embedded into the shell of the Nut, with opal patterns running in concentric circles from the inside to the outside of the Nut.
